Indian Govt. to play major role
Saturday, February 02, 2008 / news
Hon. Prime Minister - India, Mr. Manmohan Singh has already even talked about the need to increase activities in the Indian robotics space. "We plan to go in for precision guided munitions as well as unmanned vehicle technologies in the 11 and 12 Plan period".

Advantage India

Presently the Indian economy's GDP growth in the April 2007-March 2008 is expected to be approx. 7.5 %, yet the inflation is likely to be comparatively less around 5%.  Friendly policies and rising support from government has also evidently contributed to  foster industry growth.

India has the right mix of process industries that provides excellent growth  opportunities for the entire spectrum of robotics products and systems. Robotics have a key role to play in facilitating this quest for being truly world- lass and ensuring a"competitive advantage" for the Indian industry. Considering the increasing usage of communication, automobiles, medication,  electronics, IT, industrial productions in our day to day life, there is an established  need of robotics in manufacturing sector.

The Indian automation industry is growing an annual rate of 20-25 % (CAGR).Looking at the present penetration & prevalence in India, still a very great amount of  the potential market is untapped and companies are attempting to link robots with a  common man's life.

In India robotics industry is still a niche market. But days are not far when the market  will be growing like anything and the untapped potential will make major players  include India in their lists of target markets
